2019 Summer Mini-Camps

Ridgeville Park District offers a variety of one-week camps in the summertime. Many of the mini camps are staffed with your children's favorite directors and caounselors, and others are partnerships with different youth organizations. Most of these camps take place in the afternoons from 1-4pm (but please read specific times and options for each individual camps).

TO REGISTER FOR EXTENDED CARE:

Extended care activities are available before morning camps from 7:30-9am and after afternoon camp from 4-6pm for $4/hour. CLICK HERE to print extended care registration form (TBD). You can mail-in the registration form OR bring the form with check or cash to the office on the first day of camp. Contact programs@ridgeville.org with any questions or call (847) 869-5640.

REFUND POLICY: There is a $50 fee for refunds, and refunds will only be issued in case of extenuating circumstances. All refund requests must be made to the Director of Parks and Recreation. Please allow at least four weeks for refund if requested. 

 

Sticky Fingers: Basic Training Baking Bootcamp

For Kids Age 5-10

Date/Time: June 10-14, 1-4pm

Curious how to make your own baked goods, crackers, and pastries from scratch? Aspiring bakers who love to get their hands dirty in the kitchen will love our Basic Training Baking Boot Camp! Young chefs will learn the basics of scratch baking everything from breads, to fresh pastas, to muffins, to cookies, and more! While we will bake using our portable cooking tools in class, all recipes can be recreated at home in your oven for more baking fun! Young chefs will love creating sweet and savory baked goods in this tasty, fun camp! *Min/Max Enrollment: 8/12

Sports Camp

For Kids Age 6-10

Date/Time: June 17-21, 1-4pm

Location: Field House at Kamen Park East

Fee: RPD Residents $125 / Non-Residents $150

Do you have a hard time choosing a favorite sport because you love playing them all? This camp is perfect for you! Come play soccer, basketball, lacrosse, capture the flag, and more! Counselors will lead kids through a fun, heart-pumping week of games and teamwork.

 

Intro to S.T.E.M. with LEGO®

For Kids Age 5-7

Date/Time: June 24-28, 1-4pm

Location: Field House at Kamen Park East

Fee: RPD Resident $167.50 / Non-Res $180

Give your imagination a boost with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects such as: Cities, Garbage Trucks, Catamarans, and Dinosaurs. Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment.

 

Science Camp

For Kids Age 6-10

Date/Time: July 8-12, 1-4pm

Location: Field House at Kamen Park East

Fee: RPD Residents $125 / Non-Residents $150

Discover your neighborhood! Have you ever investigated the enormous world just outside your home?  See what you walk past everyday in a new way. Incredible spiders, plants growing where they shouldn’t, rocks made by humans and by nature- each of these have a place in science and a story that go with them. Campers will use their inner scientist to discover both!


Imaginary Game! (Mini Camp)

For Kids Age 8-14

Date/Time: July 15-19, 1-4pm

Location: Field House at Kamen Park East 

Fee: RPD Resident $227.50 / Non-Resident $240

The Imaginary Game returns to Ridgeville for its second year! Build a fantasy world, from gear to ramparts, then play in it. This is a camp that demands the use of legs and feet as much as hands and head. It will lay your child's iPad to rest! Artist/Instructors seek to unleash your child's zeal for creative role-playing, fantasy worlds, games, outdoor fun, and story-telling. Wizards' Camp

For Kids Age 6-10

Date/Time: July 22-26, 1-4pm

Location: Field House at Kamen Park East

Fee: RPD Resident $125 / Non-Resident $150

Want to brush up on your wand-making skills? In this camp, kids will dive into the world of magic and wizardry with exciting art projects, games, and activities such as potion-making, divination, spell casting, and broomball! If you’re a fan of the most famous boy-wizard on earth, you’ll love this camp! 


Sticky Fingers: Superfoods of the Rainbow Cooking Camp

For Kids Age 5-10

Date/Time: July 29-August 2, 9am-12pm

Location: Field House at Kamen Park East

Fee: RPD Resident $262.50 / Non-Resident $280

Come explore how to cook with a bounty of colorful ingredients! You might already know that carrots can improve your eyesight, but did you know that cherries can help improve your memory? Come join in the cooking fun in this adventurous camp exploring superfoods from all colors of the rainbow! Young chefs will learn about what makes certain ingredients so super for your body and how delicious they can taste, while practicing basic cooking skills and techniques on their way to becoming super chefs! *Min/Max Enrollment: 8/12

Do your young chefs love watching cooking shows on TV? In this exciting camp, young chefs will work together in cooking challenges inspired from favorite cooking TV shows such as Master Chef Jr., Cupcake Wars, Chopped Jr., and Cutthroat Kitchen! We will learn how to use different cooking equipment and techniques, explore flavor pairing, and create tasty mouthwatering recipes from scratch each day. Young chefs will get their creative juices flowing in this awesomely fun and delicious cooking adventure! *Min/Max Enrollment: 8/12

Dance Camp: Tutus & Tiaras

For Kids Age 3-5

Date/Time: August 12-16, 9-11am

Location: Community House at Ridgeville Park

Fee: RPD Residents $100 / Non-Residents $125

All the things your tiny dancer loves about Miss Laura's Fairy Ballet and Boys Bop class is now being offered as a CAMP! Girls and boys (preschool age) will enjoy a creative movement/pre-ballet class, story, craft and snack during this one week mini camp! Children can wear dance attire or comfortable play clothes. Ballet shoes are not required but play shoes, dress up shoes and play slippers are not permitted for safety reasons. This is a drop-off camp but parents, families and friends are invited to a demonstration at 10:45 on the last day of the camp.
