To parent a child takes a unique skill set.Whether your child is biologically yours, adopted, fostered or donated; a grandchild, niece, or nephew; or just someone you love, come gather and explore. We will look at research, history and culture and see how, and if, it fits into our personal experience. Find strength, and answers, in your parental development.

August and September - Saying Goodbye, Then Hello: How to encourage healthy separations in early childhood

October - Fostering Successful Independence: Developing Executive Function Skills in Parents and their Kids

November - Compassionate Discipline: How to promote positive behaviors in kids

December - Needs vs. Wants: Teaching kids the difference

For Kids with Special Needs & Caregivers

Unicorn Grooves: Family Style! is a therapeutic creative movement class designed for individuals with special needs that may require adaptations to class structure (i.e. quiet music or class rituals), emotional needs (i.e. use of transitional object during class or a caregiver), physical adaptations (i.e. adaptive device use or adaptation of movement), or facilitation (i.e. ability to communication nonverbally to children). The instructor is trained to assess and safely offer creative movement to individuals with a broad range of movement capabilities while promoting emotional and physical safety, creativity and spontaneity. Restorative Dance & Writing Workshops

Dates: September 9, October 7, November 4, December 2

Day/Time: Sunday 1-3pm

Instructors: Sarlalina Kamholtz & Myrna Weinman

Fee: $35 online $40 at the door

Restorative Arts Workshops invite you to connect to the wisdom available through body, mind, and spirit, through movement and writing. Through a combination of guided and free movement and writing prompts, this workshop is a space to deeply connect to that centered place within. This workshop is for all fitness and writing levels. Dress comfortably and bring a journal and a pen.

 Come learn everything you need to know about getting started with your own backyard egg laying flock!  We'll talk about where to get your chicks and how to care for them, what kind of coop to build or buy, what breeds are best for the backyard, and why fresh eggs are so much better than store bought!  If you want fresh eggs, you're interested in reducing the carbon footprint of your diet or you just love chickens, this is the class you've been waiting for!
