2017 Sampler Card

The 10-Class Sampler Card is an EXCELLENT option for those want to take advantage of what RPD has to offer, but whose busy schedules keep them from committing to a full class session. The Sampler Card is valid for one FULL YEAR from the purchase date and lets you try out as many different classes as you'd like! 

Fee: Res $100 / Non-Res $110

Register online or in-person for your sampler card. Then, visit the office at 908 Seward St. to pick up your card and start enjoying your favorite classes! Questions? Email programs@ridgeville.org.

Boys Bop-Adventures in Movement

For Kids Age 2-5

Day/Time: 2-3yo Wednesday 10-10:30am

                 3-5yo Thursday 4:30-5pm

Location: 2nd Floor Studio

Instructor: Laura Downey  

Fees: RPD Residents $60 / Non-Residents $75

Finally - a boys' only class! Toddler boys will explore and develop their mastery of movement. Basic locomotor and foundational movement skills including safely falling and getting up, jumping, acceleration/deceleration,balance and use of personal/shared space will be explored using creative play, creative movement and tumbling activities based on developmental movement principles. The goal of the class is to help boys embrace moving however they like to move safely and with consideration of others while gaining mastery of their bodies. Parents may be in the room for the first few classes but will be asked to transition out of the room. *Children must be potty-trained to participate. 


Fairy Ballet 

For Kids Age 2-5

Day/Time: 2-3yo Wednesday 9:30-10am

                  3-5yo Wednesday 4-4:30pm

                  3-5yo Thursday 4-4:30pm

                 3-5yo Saturday 2-2:30pm

Location: Main Studio

Fairy Ballet combines basic ballet technique with creative movement, imagination, and story exploration. This class will get your child moving through the space, feeling comfortable with his or her body, exploring creative impulses, and learning ballet preparation basics. This class will culminate with a studio performance for family and friends. *Children must be potty-trained to participate. 


Intro/Ballet I 

For Kids Age 5-8

Day/Time: Wednesdays 4:30-5:15pm

Location: Main Studio

Instructor: Laura Downey

Fees: RPD Residents $65 / Non-Residents $80

Basic ballet movement, technique, and vocabulary are explored in this class through creative movement, stories and dance games. Participants will learn basic ballet positions, fundamental movements, coordination and begin working at the ballet barre. This class will culminate with a studio performance for family and friends. Ballet shoes are not required though recommended. Dress up slippers are not permitted.

 

Youth Jazz

For Kids Age 5-8

Day/Time: Thursdays 6:15-7:00pm

Location: 2nd Floor Studio

Instructor: Stephanie Kilper

Fee: RPD Resident $65 / Non-RPD Resident $80

Intro to Jazz combines an exploration of rhythm, coordination and flexibility. We will learn control and isolation of certain body parts alongside movement of the entire body. This class emphasizes the use of energy and creative exploration in tandem with being seen and sharing space with classmates. 

 

Youth Hip Hop

For Kids Age 3-10

Day/Time: Saturdays 2:30-3:15pm (age 3-6)

                  Saturdays 3:15-4pm (age 6-10)

Location: Main Studio

Fee: RPD Resident $65 / Non-RPD Resident $80

In this all-levels hip hop class, students will learn basic hip hop movements, technique, and choreography. Youth Hip Hop will incorporate creative movement and hip hop games as well as opportunities for student choreography. This class will culminate with a studio performance for family and friends. Sneakers are not required though recommended. 

 

Youth Musical Theatre (COMBO CLASS)

For Kids Age 7-12

Day/Time: Thursdays 4:30-5:30pm (voice and stage)

                  Thursdays 5:30-6:15pm (dance)

Location: Main & 2nd Floor Studio

This theatre class is full of song, dance, and a whole lot of musicals! Looking back over the last 100 years of Broadway and the famous pioneers that originated this beloved art form, students will learn to perform many Broadway musical numbers, then head downstairs to learn the choreography to dance along. At the end of the 8-week session, each student will be a part of at least one Broadway Show Tune final performance for friends and family. Kids will love sharing what they’ve learned about the history of Broadway Musical Theatre!  

 

Youth Tap

For Kids Age 3-5

Day/Time: Mondays 9:15-9:45am

Location: Main Studio

Intro to Tap sizzles with fun and energy! We will learn basic tap steps and terminology. This class with get your child moving through space and beginning to explore rhythm and coordination. *Children must be potty-trained to participate. 

 

Baby-Sitting and CPR Training 

For Kids Age 12-15

Day/Time: Saturdays 10:30am-12:00pm

Location: 2nd Floor Studio

Instructor: Shannon Webber

Fee: RPD Resident $100 / Non-RPD Resident $125 (prices include CPR Training fee)

RPD’s new child-care class will prepare students to be the best babysitter in our neighborhood! We will teach you how to change diapers, handle challenging situations, entertain kids of all ages and much more. Start your babysitting journey off right and learn how to be a safe, professional and reliable sitter. Students will receive American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR/AED training at the end of the 8-week class session.

 

Executive Function

For Kids in Elementary-High School

Day/Time: Mondays 5-6pm (Elementary)

                  Saturdays 12-1pm (Jr. High & High)

Have you heard the term Executive Functions (EF)? Wonder how it can help your child? EF skills allow us to be at our best by keeping us organized, helping us to plan and empowering us to overcome our challenges. This class will cover many topics including: using an assignment notebook for more than just writing homework; how and where to keep your things; what to do to be an excellent student who reaches their greatest capabilities; and much more!

 

Group Guitar Lessons

For Adults & Kids Age 10+

Day/Time: Mondays 6:30-7:30pm

                Saturdays 2-3pm

Location: 2nd Floor Studio

Instructor: Mike Choby

Fee: RPD Resident $80 / Non-RPD Resident $95

This is a beginners’ class appropriate for all ages (10+), so no experience needed! Students will need to bring a working guitar, a lined notebook, a folder with pockets and a pencil. If students have a portable music stand, they are encouraged to bring it. Students will develop the ability to play simple chords and song structures. If students desire to sing and play they will be encouraged to do so. As students gain the ability to play together, the class will work on a set of songs with students taking different parts and roles. *An additional class can be offered on Saturday afternoons should there be interest.

 

Puppets & Storytelling!

For Kids Age 5-8

Day/Time: Thursdays 3:45-4:30pm

Location: 2nd Floor Studio

Instructor: Katie Rae

Fee: RPD Resident $65 / Non-RPD Resident $80

This class is fun for young ages!  Each student will have the opportunity to create a character and build a puppet to bring them to life.  Focusing on story telling and expression, this class is perfect for students who want to build confidence in front of an audience or just love the art of storytelling.  At the end of the sessions, each student will take home their very own puppet after performing their completely original script or adaptation with their other classmates, in a fun and fantastic puppet show.

 

You & Me: Tot Music and Movement 

For Caregivers & Kids Age 1-3 

Day/Time: Saturdays 10:45-11:45am

Location: Main Studio

Instructor: Jacy Herman

Fee: RPD Resident $70 / Non-RPD Resident $85

Sing, dance, move and play with your little one! Caregivers can learn new songs, finger-plays and poems, plus enjoy old favorites along with their toddler or infant. Connect with your little one and other caregivers while learning more about how to foster a child’s whole growth and development. 

 

Family Fusion Yoga

For Caregivers & Kids Age 1-3 

Day/Time: Saturdays 1-1:45pm

Location: Main Studio

Instructor: Aliza Roth

Fee: RPD Resident $75 / Non-RPD Resident $90

All are welcome in Yoga Fusion, a yoga class for the whole family! The classes will be customized to fit the needs of all students, from little ones/beginners to more advanced yogis. Yoga Fusion will blend physical exercise, breathing techniques and meditation to improve flexibility, decrease stress and increase present-moment awareness. Classes will include sequences for individuals as well as movements/poses for families to try together. You’re welcome to BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat), or use one of ours.
