Ridgeville Park District partners with local organizations throughout the year to expand our program offerings for the community. These programs are hosted by the Park District, but designed and staffed entirely by our partners.

Language in Action

ONLINE. For Ages 3-Adult. Join us right from your living room as we explore new cultures and learn the Spanish language via the interactive Zoom platform! Young children will learn conversational Spanish through fun and interactive activities and music while older children will also learn some Spanish phonetics to begin reading and writing in Spanish. Adult classes available, as well! Each session covers new material. Taught live by a Language in Action, Inc. instructor. Zoom login information will be emailed to participants before the first class. Instructor: Language in Action, Inc.

Rhythm Evolution NFP with John Yost

Beginner Taiko

This class teaches traditional and contemporary Japanese drumming (wadaiko). Beginning Taiko class focuses on basic rhythm, taiko technique, form and traditional pieces.  Participants must supply their own taiko bachi (drum sticks) after the first class.

Intermediate Taiko

Intermediate Taiko class focuses on refining beginning pieces and more intricate, challenging, techniques, kata and pieces. Participants must supply their own taiko bachi.

Kazahaya Dojo Modern Self Defense

with Dojo-Cho Louis Skriba

For Ages 14-Adult. Do you have the spirit of a ninja or samurai and want the skills to match? Want to improve your life through martial arts without your training focusing on competition and belts? The Kazahaya Dojo teaches unarmed and weapon martial arts techniques for true case self-defense, all rooted in traditional Japanese martial arts. As an internationally certified branch of the Genbukan World Ninpo Bugei Federation, Dojo-cho Louis Skriba will instruct you in these proven centuries old techniques that are still useful in our 21st century world.
